Spring brings a whole bunch of opportunities to go outside and try new stuff. One of my favorite things is to just sit out and relax with friends, this often includes food and snacks. Starbucks is one of the largest coffee brands in the world and takes advantage of the spring weather to create new funky drinks.
Chocolate with mint is my absolute favorite combination so naturally I was PUMPED when I heard about the Thin Mint frappucino. There was a bit of a whipped cream overload but I could definitely taste both the mint and the chocolate.
The secret Starbucks menu has so many cool options for drinks and I really want to try a bunch out. I was a little worried about having to ask barristas to make me specialty drinks, but my friend who works at Starbucks said that as long as you’re respectful and there isn’t a huge line, any barrista would be happy to help out.
The other day after I washed a pullover sweatshirt in the wash, I found that the string that pulled the hood closed had come out of the hood. This happens constantly for me whether it be the string of a sweatshirt, a ribbon through the waist of pants, or cording through a bag. Getting the string/ribbon etc. back into its casing is super easy and fast, and totally something everyone should know how to do.
The hack is simple, all you need is a safety pin! Simply attach the pin to the piece of cording, using the pin to lead the cording through the “tunnel” in the fabric. The motion is a repetitive scrunching that should be smooth due to the safety pin. Once you get all the way through the “tunnel” of fabric, un-clip the pin, and you’re done!
Hello all! Life has been pretty crazy lately and I’ve lost a lot of my free time, but hopefully things will calm down soon. I also happen to be really bad at managing my time so even though I have tons of blog post ideas and about 4 unfinished drafts, none of my ideas are actually getting out. Anyway, here’s what’s been going on!
I turned 18! Woohoo! With my legal adult status, I did the one thing I have been wanting to do since I was 13, I got my nose pierced. I am so happy with the results and have gotten so many compliments! I went to a place called Pleasurable Piercings which is right near me and was extremely happy with the whole process. The people were great and super helpful, I was in and out in 30 min.
In other news, the Pacsun in the mall by me was having a blue sticker sale where everything with a blue sticker was 70% off. The 2 shirts, cardigan, and bralette cost a total of $50. The magazine Allure randomly started coming to my house and I’m not really sure why, but I’m not complaining! The style and beaut tips are awesome plus I happen to be a major magazine hoarder. A present I received from a friend is that pink book you see entitled “The diary of a young lady of fashion of the 2017”. It’s a little planner/journal that gives me space to write about my day and plan things out on paper. I have always wanted to start journaling but have never had the motivation so this cute little book was the perfect push I needed. Lastly, I received what has now become my obsession; my Nalgene. Nalgene’s are the superior water bottle over all other water bottles, no questions asked. They are incredibly durable, practical, and cool looking and don’t make your water taste like the inside of a bottle.
And so my friends, those are the few things that have been happening, hopefully I’ll be back on my blogging game soon!
Lady Gaga absolutely KILLED at the Superbowl last night. Her performance was an awesome show and she had the outfit to match.
The first shot of her up on the roof of the dome in Atelier Versace was absolutely breathtaking. The body suit looked sexy and sleek and was a subtle tribute to the style god himself, David Bowie. Her matching Swarovski-covered boots completed the look to a T. Adding the gold studded jacket was pretty wild but Gaga can do no wrong and she looked even cooler. Her final outfit of the sparkly underwear things and the football style top was also incredibly sexy and cool.
Lady Gaga’s outfits made a total statement and I think her whole show was a 10/10 Superbowl halftime performance!
This year I was invited to go to Nordstrom’s annual fall beauty trend show. I was so excited to be apart of such a cool event as a Nordstrom teen fashion ambassador with my friend. The event advertised Nordstrom’s latest beauty products, which were displayed on a great runway with awesome spokespeople and models. I loved all the products they introduced and added a bunch of items to my quickly growing Hanukkah list!
One of the coolest parts of the event was how many raffle items there were. Unfortunately I didn’t win any, but it was really cool seeing people get free perfumes, hairdryers, makeup, and other beauty products.
Our first stop was to obsess over the new MAC holiday line Nutcracker Sweet. The packaging was so cute and eye-catching, I wanted all of it! The coolest product was their new Spellbinder eyeshadow. I don’t get how it works but even though it’s loose powder, it doesn’t have any fall out! It is also the most pigmented shadow I’ve ever seen.
We headed over to the Deborah Lippmann counter and I was drawn to this electric, shimmery pink color 12th street rag. It was honestly the coolest color I’ve ever seen and I immediately put it on my wishlist. At the nail painting stand, I got the color After Midnight, it’s a super deep navy that totally set me in a cold weather mood.
Finally we headed over to the DryBar booth where we got our hair blown out to perfection. The brand was trying out their new product the 3-Day Bender with a whole bunch of their dry shampoos, anti-friz, and texturizing products. I loved the tool and my hair looked great after I got it done. Unfortunately though the tool advertises as having curls for 3 days, mine lasted for 1. This could just be my hair, or maybe I did’t put enough hairspray in, but I was a little disappointed in it.
The whole event was super cool and I loved getting beauty tricks from all the brands there!
Project Runway is my most favorite tv show in this whole universe. I become so obsessed with all the designers and am so inspired by all their aesthetics. Season 15 began last Thursday and I am so into it already. The first challenge was unconventional, using the party decorations of the room they were in. It was so so good and I’m incredibly excited for the rest of the season!!
Her look was so funky and cool! I’m not really into yellow or fur for that matter, but everything was so balanced and totally brought out her personality like the challenge asked for. Her look wasn’t my favorite of the bunch, but I still think it deserved the win.
This was a total snooze fest to the max. It was so basic and I think the add-on’s made it look like a craft project that anyone could have done. There was no real style to this look and he could have done a lot more even with a simple shift dress. I also think he was deserving of the loose.
My favorite: Nathalia
So! Many! Textures! I think this look so cool and creative. The silver and white are really sleek and the bold difference between the texture of the dress and the sleeves is so eye catching.
Senior year has begun! I am so excited to embark on my last year of high school, and this 3 day week was just a preview for what is ahead. My main goal for this year is to win the senior superlative of “best dressed” in my yearbook. We had a short week this week but I got a bunch of compliments and I can’t wait to show my classmates more of my outfits.
It has gotten to a high of 90 F all week and my school is not air conditioned, so even though I was tempted to wear jeans, I chose not to in fear of heat stroke. Anyway, here are my first 3 days worth of outfits!
Day 1: I wore my school senior shirt, my favorite Levi’s high-waisted shorts, and my new nike sneakers.
Day 2: A white flowy tank from Kohl’s, plaid miny skirt from Tilly’s, and my new black high-top converse
Day 3: My dress that I thrifted from Buffalo Exchange, my black choker, and my high-tops again
