The other weekend Sarah and I went to some local parks and took some pictures to celebrate Spring and the warm weather. We looked for flowers and good lighting to make the pictures more interesting and we each chose 2 outfits. It’s still early in spring so we didn’t get as much nature in the shots as we originally wanted, but I think the pictures still turned out really well!
Shirt: Mudd at Kohl’s
Shirt: American Eagle
Jeans: American Eagle
Dress: cotton on
We took tons more and I love all of them but this post would be about 10 pages long if I posted all the pictures so I figured it was best to just show off my favorites.
The holiday season is upon us! My entire feed is filled with Christmas wishlists, Christmas swearers, and Christmas trees so I decided to change it up a little. When was younger my school would have holiday assemblies where we could wear Santa hats and would sing jingle bells. I didn’t own a Santa hat and there was nothing Hanukkah themed for me to wear so I often felt a little left out. Finally, people are including Hanukkah in their holiday spirits and now Hanukkah themed clothes surround us! There is some really cute stuff out there and I can’t wait to buy it all!
Tipsy Elves is the funniest, coolest website for Hanukkah sweaters. They’re funny and fuzzy, and a great price!
Etsy is another great site for Hanukkah sweaters and Hanukkah themed clothes. I actually bought this one from here and my only warning is to buy way in advance because sometimes the shipping takes forever. Other than that, I love this sweater and I’ve gotten so many compliments on it.
This year I was invited to go to Nordstrom’s annual fall beauty trend show. I was so excited to be apart of such a cool event as a Nordstrom teen fashion ambassador with my friend. The event advertised Nordstrom’s latest beauty products, which were displayed on a great runway with awesome spokespeople and models. I loved all the products they introduced and added a bunch of items to my quickly growing Hanukkah list!
One of the coolest parts of the event was how many raffle items there were. Unfortunately I didn’t win any, but it was really cool seeing people get free perfumes, hairdryers, makeup, and other beauty products.
Our first stop was to obsess over the new MAC holiday line Nutcracker Sweet. The packaging was so cute and eye-catching, I wanted all of it! The coolest product was their new Spellbinder eyeshadow. I don’t get how it works but even though it’s loose powder, it doesn’t have any fall out! It is also the most pigmented shadow I’ve ever seen.
We headed over to the Deborah Lippmann counter and I was drawn to this electric, shimmery pink color 12th street rag. It was honestly the coolest color I’ve ever seen and I immediately put it on my wishlist. At the nail painting stand, I got the color After Midnight, it’s a super deep navy that totally set me in a cold weather mood.
Finally we headed over to the DryBar booth where we got our hair blown out to perfection. The brand was trying out their new product the 3-Day Bender with a whole bunch of their dry shampoos, anti-friz, and texturizing products. I loved the tool and my hair looked great after I got it done. Unfortunately though the tool advertises as having curls for 3 days, mine lasted for 1. This could just be my hair, or maybe I did’t put enough hairspray in, but I was a little disappointed in it.
The whole event was super cool and I loved getting beauty tricks from all the brands there!
Hello wordpress world! The entire month of July I was completely absent from blogging and I am truly sorry for that. I realized that I spent way too much time inside on my computer not enjoying enough of what was actually happening in life. As much as I love reading everything on WordPress, Instagram, and Facebook, half of my day was usually spent inside! This summer has brought beautiful weather, and I have been taking advantage of it as much as possible. That being said, lots has happened and I can’t wait to share!
I have been reading, hiking, tanning, trying new beauty products and diys, sewing, drawing, listening to music, and going on some pretty cool day trips. I have controlled my schedule this summer as I only work about 2 days a week, so with each day I have been trying to have as much fun as possible. I’ll be back on all your feeds with my summer adventures in no time!
Lots of school’s have off this week or the week following for Spring break. Though of course everyone wants to have that perfect tropical crazy spring break week, that is not the realistic case for most teens. Despite this, you can still have tons of fun! Here are some ideas on how to spend your week off.
Throw a party
It doesn’t have to be for anything, it can just be for fun! If you or one of your friends has a big backward, set it up with balloons, tables of food, and games. Order in from your favorite restaurant, have everyone bring food like a potluck, or even set tables up like a buffet. The options for food are endless. Make a theme and have everyone dress up or just make it casual. Your party should be about having fun with your friends and spending your spring break with people who make you happy.
Do a project
Whether its painting, filming a movie, knitting, cooking, drawing, or sewing, find a hobby and dedicate your time to it. Find something that interests you that you don’t normally have time to do and run with it. Be your most creative and expressive self because you have all the time in the world! After the week is up you will have learned or improved a new skill and will have something to show for it! (That’s way better than a tan, right?)
Go for a hike
Hopefully if the weather is nice you will take the time to explore the great outdoors. I am lucky enough to have 2 hiking reserves close to me, but if you don’t maybe make a day trip out of driving to a really cool hiking reserve. If you life in a big city where there are no trees in sight, go to a park! Take time to smell the flowers and enjoy the fresh air.
Have a photoshoot
Get together with a bunch of friends, find a cool location or make a backdrop, grab some props and have fun! Creating a photoshoot is a way to express tons of creativity and personality, plus if gives you plenty of Instagram material!
Go on a day trip
Find a museum in your area or an exhibit you want to check out. Go with your friends or your family, and make a day out of it. Find a cool place for lunch and take lots of pictures of everything you see.
